First edition, inscribed by Jara’s widow to author Andrew Salkey, co-founder of Caribbean Artists Movement: “To dear friend Andrew Salkey in gratitude for solidarity and understanding. Joan Jara”. Jara was tortured and murdered by Chile’s US-sponsored military junta in September 1973. Pete Seeger wrote that “as long as we sing his songs, as long as his courage can inspire us to greater courage, Victor Jara will never die”. A fine copy.
